Moira McQueen

Board President, Serra International

Dr. Moira McQueen taught moral theology at St Michael’s Faculty of Theology, University of Toronto, from 1994-2022 and is the Executive Director of the Canadian Catholic Bioethics Institute. She is the author of the award-winning book, “Bioethics Matters,” and “Walking Together: A Primer on the New Synodality,” 2022. She was the Canadian lay representative at the Synod on Marriage and the Family in 2015, served on the International Theological Commission at the Vatican for five years and is frequently consulted by the Canadian bishops.

Moira was awarded the Papal honour of Dame of the Order of St Gregory the Great in 2014 and is also a Dame of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem. She and her husband, Dr Matthew McQueen, have seven adult children and 12 grandchildren.

Moira is the founding President of Serra Halton, a past President of Serra Canada, and proud tobe the current President of Serra International.
